Graduation restaurant options

In the end we plumped for La Vallee Blanche which was a huge success and not quite as mobbed as some of the usual venues, perhaps because it is tucked away upstairs overlooking the Byres Road. Perfect location in close proximity to Glasgow University and superb food with a French influence.

We've been back a few times since. Stravaigin is a popular venue for Glasgow University Graduation meals too. I guess this is a timely thread for those considering where to book for this season's celebrations. This post almost seems like an advert for the two restaurants mentioned - Roastit Bubbly Jocks and Fanny Trollopes , especially as they are both owned by the same team.

I thought it was the perfect opportunity to highlight decent restaurants that are close enough to hobble to in high heels. The two mentioned would have killed ma poor feet!

Well i have been to both restaurants and i think the menus are exciting, food excellent and prices reasonable unlike many byres road eateries. And as for location, finnieston has become the bohemian enclave byres road used to be without the madness, and dumbarton road is following close behind. Hi Iwilleatwell, I hear good things about both restaurants mentioned by the original poster. How long do you estimate it would take to walk to bubbly jocks or fanny trollopes from Glasgow University's Bute Hall where the graduation ceremonies take place? But if I was in a group and and with people in high heels I would add another ten minutes to that.

I would be interested to know what places on Byres Road iwilleatwell feels have unreasonable prices. Stick that! I won't be teetering any further than around the corner for my next grad ceremony.

It's not as if driving is a practical option on those days either. Not the most sensible suggestion from the OP then sadly. No need to pay through the nose for excellent graduation meals in the west end. I think La Vallee Blanche cost around fifteen quid for three courses from their afternoon menu which was superb in every way. We have a first time poster extolling the virtues of two restaurants both owned by the same guy Mo Abdulla.

How many people in here post restaurant genuine reviews complete with telephone numbers? Someone rumbles them and we get another first time poster called "iwillweatwell" coming on board to defend the original post. Come on folks, don't add value to this thread by creating a genuine discussion around what appears to be just lies and deceit.

Tell them what you think about deceitful self promotion! Incidentally it is once again shocking that TA has deemed this to be an appropriate post after it being reported twice. All this does is further educe TA's credibility. This site uses cookies to improve your experience, to enhance site security and to show you personalised advertising.

Graduation – Ubiquitous Chip

The Chip isn't cheap but the food is very good so it's well worth a visit. Despite being at capacity for graduation meals, service was excellent and the food very good and well presented. While they do have a good and extensive wine list, they certainly know how to charge for them!
